Smoked Salmon French Toast
Courtesy of Afrim PristineCheese Boutique’s Afrim Pristine adds a spin to the classic combination of smoked salmon and cream cheese with the addition of Conestoga Farms eggs. Not only fresh and fun, it’s a great breakfast option to share with family over different holidays.
Ingredients
- 100 g thinly sliced smoked salmon
- 100 g cream cheese
- 4 think slices of brioche toast bread
- 2 Conestoga Farms Free Run Omega-3 Eggs
- Few drops of vanilla extract
- Small handful of finely chopped fresh chives
- Small handful of capers
- Small handful of freshly picked dill
- 1/8 lemon zest only
- 30 g grass-fed salted butter
Instructions
- Crack eggs into bowl and whisk until egg yolk and egg whites are combined
- Add vanilla extract to egg and whisk combining them together
- Add finely chopped chives to egg and vanilla mixture and whisk together
- Dredge the brioche bread slices into egg mixture on both sides. Do this to all 4 slices and put to the side
- In a large sauté pan, add butter and keep heat to no more than medium
- Once butter is warmed and melted, add slices of soaked bread into pan
- Cook on both sides for about 90 seconds or until golden brown on both sides. Cook all 4 slices and put to the side
- In a large bowl, line up French toast so it stands up against lining of the bowl
- Add large dollop of cream cheese in front of the French toast
- Drop smoked salmon on either side of the cream cheese
- Add capers next to one side of the smoked salmon
- Add dill leaves rustically onto cream cheese and smoked salmon
- Finish with freshly grated lemon zest
